An Application2KI 2:39 Shimei had an ego problem. He didn't want a reputation that anyone could just run away and he'd be unable to follow. He could've just sent someone else, but perhaps either no one liked him enough to help, or his ego was too big. Either way, he was foolish for doing something the king had expressly declared a capital offense. The King of kings has declared some offenses as capital, too. Do we care? (Some examples are EX 21:16, 35:2, LEV 20:1-2, 20:13, REV 21:8.)

Connect the Dots1KI 2:26, Solomon was saying Abiathar was a great servant of his father, but he betrayed his position as priest by allying himself with the self-righteous traitor Adonijah (1KI 1:7), making him an apostate (not good for anyone, certainly not a priest.) / 1KI 2:28 the tent was in Jerusalem because the Ark was: 2SA 15:25.
