An ApplicationIt's our job to resist injustice (LEV 19:15, ISA 1:16-17, AM 5:10), we're not supposed to simply expect God to do it for us. Either way, God is more just than us (ISA 5:15-16). / Curious contrast 1SA 22:18 to 1SA 15:9, Saul spared the evil king and best animals but not the innocent priests. / 1SA 22:22 is such a contrast of humility.

Connect the DotsUp until 1SA 22:16-17 the story could have ended better. It's great the guards didn't carry out the king's order, but it's too bad they didn't initiate a civil war to prevent such injustice as described in 1SA 22:18-19. The last one had started over less (JDG 20:12-13, JOS 22:11-12). This may be the result of 1SA 2:29-33, which doesn't mean God caused it. Later in 2SA 21:1, it's clear God disapproved of Saul's actions, and David will write PS 52.
