An Application2CH 33:12 reminds us that God wants a humble heart, but we're all stubborn and as long as we repent, whether that's when we're young or old or about to die, the point is if we do, God notices and cares. / Manasseh acted like both men described in Jesus's parable in MT 21:29-31. In the end, he repented (2CH 33:11) and he seems to have experienced forgiveness of sins (2CH 33:13), but there will still be earthly consequences for those sins, even though he repented: 2KI 23:26 & 24:3.
