An ApplicationAfter about 500 years of monarchies, the nation of Israel (what's left of it) is completely shattered. God promised if they disregarded His commands, He'd punish them. They decided to re-write His promises how they saw fit, and suffered the punishment. When being dragged off to exile, they didn't get carried away in busses or SUVs. They walked, in a chain gang, possibly naked, regardless of the weather. And it's a multi month walk from Jerusalem to Babylon.

Connect the DotsAmong others, 2KI 25:3 was prophecied in EZE 5:10, 2KI 25:4-5 was proph in EZE 17:21, 2KI 25:6 was in JER 37:17, 2KI 25:7 was in EZE 17:20, 2KI 25:9 was in JER 26:6 & 34:22, 2KI 25:6 & 18-19 were in JER 34:21. Compare 2KI 25:11-12 to EZE 21:26. It's so tempting to sympathize with the underdog and feel sorry for them in 2KI 25:21, but remember this was God punishing them through Neby, not Neby acting random mean. God had warned them a really long time ago, too, in LEV 26:27-33 and DT 28:47-57.
