An ApplicationAhaziah had a messed up life. His father rejected everything important his grandfather believed in and killed all his brothers (Ahziah's uncles, 2CH 21:4), raiders looted his hometown (the nation's capital) and took with them his mom and killed his brothers (2CH 22:1). Good opportunity to turn to God, but He doesn't seem to have taken it.

Connect the DotsNot much is explicitly recorded in 2KI 8 about Ahaziah. A little more detail was given in 2CH 22:1-6. / There were two Ahaziah's, one King of the northern kingdom (1KI 22:51-53) and one for the southern (2 Kings 8:25-27). Both were descendants of Ahaz, the northern one was uncle to the southern.
