An ApplicationAmnon was fantasizing about his sister, and found out the hard way that when we expect sex to fulfill our fantasies, it's doomed to failure and disappointment. He learned this lesson at the expense of Tamar, and rather than admit error, he decided to blame the victim.

Curious that David was mad yet not recorded as doing anything. We can sympathize if he had been lenient, but to have done nothing is unexplainable. Maybe he had DT 32:35 in mind, but I doubt it. This is the first of multiple stories which will point out David's almost unreal devotion to his sons (not his kids nor his family, but just his sons, specifically.)
