An ApplicationIt was pretty inevitable that Amnon was toast, though he didn't have to be. Forgiveness is often (but not necessarily) preceded by repentance, but Amnon doesn't seem to have ever even said sorry. Curious that someone would be so desperate to give news to the king, and so desperate to not be outdone by "the next guy," that he made up a false conclusion and knowing one prince had been assassinated he told the king all the princes had.

Connect the DotsIn 2SA 13:36, I wonder if they were all crying for the same reason? At the end, when Absalom flees to another country, that king was his grandpa, as mentioned in 2SA 3:3. Nothing is said about the mother of Amnon nor Absalom (they were named back in 2SA 3:2-3, but no comment after their boys both do such psycho things).
