Acts 22:30-23:35 CEV

An ApplicationACT 23:6 is funny. Paul knows this trial is a mockery and he feels no obligation to honor it. (Though he was obviously not trying to be disrespectful of the individuals: ACT 23:5.) Rather than defend himself on the merits of the criticism, he saw a political weakness and exploited it: ACT 23:7. Later he will write 2CO 10:3-5.

Connect the DotsCompare first part of ACT 23:3 to MT 23:27. As for Paul's comment about breaking the law, that wasn't a direct citation but there were verses like LEV 19:15-16, EX 23:1-2, DT 1:16-17, 19:15, 19:18-19, JN 7:51.
