An ApplicationIn ACT 25:7, if someone had reminded them of EX 20:16 they might respond like the guy in LK 10:29. The elitist in Jesus's day and the people in this story were only concerned with the narrowest possible definition of the word "neighbor." That's why Jesus told the parable of the Good Samaritan (LK 10:25-37) and many others. We think we're so discerning when we treat our friends well and our enemies poorly, but God thinks otherwise: LK 6:31-35, and PR 28:11, ISA 44:24-25, 1CO 3:19.

Connect the DotsMaybe he was just curious, but perhaps behind ACT 26:22 was a little hope for 1KI 3:28. Not that Agrippa had likely even heard of Solomon, but we all want to be awed like that. King Agrippa was in the line of the Herods (MT 2:1, 2:22, ACT 12:1-3). / ACT 25:27 shows Festus was a corrupt coward. He was hiding from his constituents behind the emperor, because obviously the alternative was if you can't name a charge then don't send him, just set him free.
