An ApplicationACT 4:13 is encouragement for us all, and is typical of God's character and counterintuitive to the elite. / ACT 4:19 is a wonderful paradigm we should have more of today. Of course the elite will judge poorly and Peter will need to refine his statement in ACT 5:29. The same God then and today is just as eager to to use people who will bring glory to Him. The amount of glory revealed (by God, through miraculous wonders) is typically proportional to the amount of glory given (by people).

Connect the DotsFunny how those in power didn't want to be corrected, and more importantly weren't interested in paradigm changes that would cause them to lose even the smallest measure of power. They had fought God in person in MT 22:23 and were still fighting His people in ACT 4:2-3. The elite were fighting in pride to defend their position. The Apostles were fighting in humility to defend God's reputation. / ACT 4:25-26 was quoting PS 2:1-2. Compare ACT 4:31 to ACT 2:2-4.
