An ApplicationSo this guy named Stephen was recruited to serve tables at meal time and he ends up performing miracles and leading people to Christ. Naturally opposition arose. All we need is clarity to be seen as a heritic by the establishment. In ACT 6:11, I think they meant their self-serving, idolatrous reinterpretation of Moses and God.

Connect the DotsCompare ACT 6:8 to JAM 5:16b. / So they paid others to sin, break God's 9th of 10 Commandments (EX 20:16) to defend their religion purity. / Compare ACT 6:14 to JN 2:18-20, MK 13:1-2, and MT 26:60-61. Six times in the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus said "you have heard it said... but I tell you" (MT 5:21-44). They weren't completely lying, but they were either applying a serious slant or they were just dumb ignorant of what God was trying to tell humanity. We still meet people like this today.
