An ApplicationOften obeying God is more for the benefit of others than for ourself. Samaria (ACT 8:5) is on the way to Cesarea (ACT 8:40). Philip may have had a goal of going there all along, and did a good job obeying God along the way. It's about 24 hours of walking from Samaria to the region where God sent Philip (ACT 8:26). Philip could have complained about the multiple delays getting to His goal, but he seems to have accepted them well. We should remember to do the same, for it's an honor to serve God.

Connect the DotsPhilip had a personal visit by an angel (ACT 8:26) and had a supernatural experience of teleportation (ACT 8:39-40). Whoa. How much less if Philip had just responded "that's silly" when God gave him the seemingly random command to go walk by that carriage (ACT 8:29)? It's common for God to ask us to do things we won't understand until after we've obeyed (ISA 55:8-9). / ACT 21:8 will tie together ACT 8:40 and 6:3.
