An ApplicationThe core of Esther's dilemma is not the law described in EST 4:11, because the law allows for anyone to visit the king as long as he is pleased with them. The dilemma was not knowing the king's attitude when she arrived. Would he be in a bad mood and say "go away" or "not now"? Normally that would be ok but in this case that'd mean death. How often do we worry not if something can be done, but if it'll work out the way we want (in our favor)?

Connect the DotsCompare Mordecai's admonition to Esther in EST 4:14 to what God told Moses to tell pharaoh in EX 9:16. / The term "Jew" or "Jewish" has only been used a couple of times before EST 3. It will replace the term 'Israelite' going forward because the last tribe left after Assyria sacked Samaria was basically the tribe of Judah.
