An Application
Again Esther was thinking ahead, representing God well. She didn't just pray during those 3 days of fasting (although surely she did) she was using that time to prepare for what she was about to do. / Boasting is a very human thing to do, so I can't personally blame him for EST 5:11. But for the record, there was JER 9:23-24, which we should all take very seriously.
Connect the Dots
Cain & Haman could relate. Compare Haman's attitude in EST 5:13 to Cain's at the end of and immediately after GE 4:4-5. / In EST 5:14, they wanted it 75 feet tall?? The average human man is just under 6 feet tall, so 7.5' would almost be enough. 75' is 6, maybe 7 stories high. There must've been some reason that didn't make it into the record to justify that ridiculous height. Surely the reason had something to do with pride.
