Some ThoughtsThe plague of darkness was clearly a toe to toe confrontation between the God of the Hebrews and the Egyptian sun god, Ra. All the plagues were very much a religious war, and of the best kind, where people didn't fight each other but rather the gods were put to the test. This was subtly recorded explicitly, twice, in EX 12:12 and NUM 33:3-4. The Philistines will experience in 1SA 5:3-4, Elijah instigated a similar type of fight in 1KI 18:27, and then there's JER 43:13.
