Some Thoughts
This chapter was spoken to Israelite exiles, and JER 31:28-30 was spoken to Israelites who'd not yet been taken captive a few years prior. Both the exiles and those left in Jerusalem were feeling sorry for themselves, feeling dumped on because of their parents. They all needed a reminder that they weren't as righteous as they thought. The same is true for us today.
