An ApplicationEZR 8:22 was an example of putting his money where his mouth was, and took a tremendous amount of faith. Remember it was a 4-month journey by foot, and that's a very, very long trip through politically and economically unknown territory to be made without any form of military escort. Especially while carrying thousands of pounds of gold and silver. There were no hotels waiting for them along the way, and no national banks. But they trusted God, and He was faithful...

Connect the Dots...The fasting was surely significant too, to show God they were serious. Surely there were a lot of prayers like "God, all this stuff and all these people are Yours, help them reach Your city in one piece if You want them to." / EZR 8:31-32 seems to be more detail to EZR 7:9.
