An ApplicationAbram was a "very rich man" (GE 13:2). Throughout the Bible, God is very intentional to express His love for the poor and the rich alike. There will be so much talk of God's favor on the poor that some people even wonder if it's wrong to be rich. Abram is one example that having money (or not having it) is not God's primary concern for us. His primary concern is our heart, our faith, and our love: 1SA 16:7, MT 22:36-38, ACT 8:20-21.

Connect the DotsAs crazy as the lie was that Sarai was his sister (GE 12:13) he'll do it again in chapter 20. Most of us never consider if indeed it did save his life. / GE 13:15 was the second time God mentioned this promise (GE 12:7), it won't be the last. / In GE 13:18, Hebron is the origin of the term Hebrews. Mamre is a man, though besides GE 14:24 it will always be a reference to this place (named after a guy who possibly planted all the trees).
