An ApplicationGE 18:1 says God came to visit Abraham. GE 18:2 says there were 3 visitors. GE 19:1 says two of them were angels, the other was likely Jesus (GE 18:13, 22). Angels do not have a single form like people do, but can choose to look like us. At first Abraham assumed they were ordinary people, and he was just being polite, but the subject of the conversation revealed their higher nature (HEB 13:2). May we be polite (MT 25:35-40) and fear God (give Him proper respect) too (GE 18:27).

Connect the DotsGE 18:1-2, 21, wasn't the first time God came down to check out the extent of our sin. He had done the same in the Garden in GE 3:8 & at the tower of Babel in GE 11:5. / Compare how both A&S laughed (GE 17:17, 18:12) to Zechariah & Mary (LK 1:18, 34). There is a subtle but significant difference between asking & doubting. / Compare GE 18:27 & 2:7. / Abraham didn't try to talk God down to fewer than 10 (GE 18:32) possibly because He hadn't even spared the whole world on account of 8 (GE 6:17-18).
