An ApplicationGE 19:5, just because millions of people are confused on this topic doesn't make it complicated. It means those people either aren't clear on or disapprove of the opinion of their Creator. More to the point, it's only confusing when we want to please both God and man (JAM 4:4). If we put either first then this topic is real simple. A Biblical worldview involves always choosing to please our Creator over ourself (or anyone else) when we have to choose (Acts 5:29).

Connect the DotsThe rudeness of the men of Sodom was certainly an issue, but that wasn't novel. Eventually God will formalize LEV 20:13, and over a millennia later Jesus's earthly brother reminded us why they were punished so extremely: JUDE 1:7. Peter also used them as an example: 2PE 2:6-8. / Yes, GE 19:8 was a bad idea, but we'll see in the next story those daughters weren't saints, either. They had likely grown up with pagans (they were engaged to them: GE 19:14). No mention what happened to GE 13:5-6.
