An ApplicationThere's a pattern here for us all to follow. (1) The servant was acting in obedience to his master, knowing what the master's expectations were. (2) As the time approached for victory or failure, he prayed (GE 24:12). (3) But not just any prayer, he asked for a specific, unlikely, sign (GE 24:14). He wasn't prescriptive in his prayer, he did setup God to act in his life in a way that would be obvious when he told the story later (GE 24:50). (4) He told the story, giving God glory (GE 24:42).

Connect the DotsThe blessing of GE 24:60 will actually come true. As small examples consider 1CH 21:5 and 2CH 13:3. / In GE 24:67, Isaac's mom had died when he was 37 (GE 23:1) and he was now 40 (GE 25:20). Rebekah's age is no longer remembered, but she was a young woman (GE 24:16) not a young girl. She did consent to the whole marriage & relocation: GE 24:56-59. Another woman named Ruth will have a similar sentiment in a few centuries (RU 1:16-17).
