An ApplicationGE 28:12 is where we get the terms "stairway to heaven" and "Jacob's ladder." Angels can fly, so don't need stairs nor ladders, but it's very normal for God and His angels to express themselves in ways we can relate to. He does this because He cares about us. What an awesome attitude of our Creator. No wonder Jacob woke up and gave glory to God. May we remember to, also.

Connect the DotsGE 28:17, terror is not uncommon, compare GE 15:12, DAN 8:17, LK 2:9, & REV 1:17. / Jacob (GE 28:22), like Abraham before him (GE 14:20), had intuited the value of giving God a tenth of their wealth, which would later be spelled out as part of the law and given the name "tithe" (LEV 27:32). / This is the last time we'll read about Rebekah, besides GE 49:31. / Per Google, Jacob's total journey was at least 550 miles, which would take 200 hours to walk alone & nonstop, or a full month with stops.
