An ApplicationGE 30:34-36 & 31:20, seems like Jacob and Laban had a lot in common. One important difference was Jacob believed in the one true God (GE 31:5) but Laban did not (GE 31:19). GE 30:37-41 was a divinely decreed transfer of wealth. Jacob's actions may have resulted in the described outcome, but more a matter of obedience and faith than a result of repeatable, explicable science. God can do in a moment of favor what we can't even do in a lifetime of trying on our own.

Connect the DotsPresumably GE 30:25 and GE 31:6 occurred after the 7 years of GE 29:27, which was after the 7 years of GE 29:20. GE 31:38 will inform us we are another 6 years after those 14. / GE 31:10-13 was a retelling of a dream that happened before, and likely inspired, GE 30:25-26. / Rachel's motivation was unclear in GE 31:19.
