An ApplicationWhen we compare ISA 1:13 to EX 30:34-38, NUM 10:10 and 28:14, God is not being self-contradictory, He is being very sad at how much His people have degraded and disrespected Him, forgetting the purpose of the ceremonies. This chapter was one of many when God spoke to His people through the prophets to warn them that their sins would have devastating consequences if they didn't repent.

Connect the DotsCompare ISA 1:3 & 10 to JER 9:23-24. / Compare ISA 1:18 to JN 1:29. / GE 4:7 gets a renewed meaning with this chapter. Also compare God's sentiment in this story to His more succinct comment in MT 7:21, which also gives us a richer perspective on MT 5:17.
