An ApplicationA story of calm between storms during the early years of Zedekiah's reign. Shows God's character to say, even now while He's furious with Judah, that someday property will again be bought and sold like normal in their land. / At the end of JER 32:8, it's fascinating to read Jeremiah's self-assurance that God had spoken to him. Even as a major prophet, he didn't blindly trust every whim, thought, or voice as God's. He intuited the warning given many centuries later in 1TI 4:1.

Connect the DotsJeremiah's prayer has been truncated in this story, it ends with JER 32:24?-?25?, and God's response is detailed, ending with JER 32:43-44. / JER 32:9, the 2022 value of 17 one-ounce silver coins is about $500. In modern property values, this would only buy a couple square feet of land, maybe less. Times were different back then.
