An ApplicationAmazing, one of a kind strategic perspective in this story into the dual nature of life. Everything that happens in our lives has both physical and spritual implications to it. Sometimes perhaps more than others, but certainly more often than we realize. Bad things happen to [so called] good people often just because of human sin, but sometimes it's actually a test to allow us to prove to both ourselves and God that we are capable of passing. (GE 3 was a failure, LK 22:42 was a pass.)

Connect the DotsThere is inadequate context to accurately date the book of Job, but the lack of any reference to God's people makes us assume it happened before the time of Abraham (GE 12). / The name Satan means accuser or adversary. This was certainly true for Job, for Joshua in ZEC 3:1, and Peter emphasizes it in his comment in 1PE 5:8. / Job's famous observation in JOB 1:21 will be repeated in EC 5:15, PS 49:17, and 1TI 6:7, hence Jesus's recommendation in MT 6:19-20.
