Some ThoughtsThis chapter makes more sense after reading that list of failures we read in the previous story (but aren't read until later in a normal Bible). Notice JOS 24:28 is same as JDG 2:6, indicating this story detailed in JOS 24 is aluded to (but skipped) in JDG 2. / Compare JOS 24:11-12 to PS 20:7 and ZEC 4:6. / JOS 24:15b is one of the great verses in the Bible. / Unfortunately, in JOS 24:24 they didn't do what Joshua told them in JOS 24:23. The consequences will be described in a few stories.
