An ApplicationLK 16:31 is a warning straight from Jesus that seeing is not always believing. It might be for earthly things, like if someone claims they brought dessert to share, but too often it's not for spiritual matters. Largely because if we don't want to believe then no evidence will change our mind. / Remember that parables are like cartoons, they simultaneously both are and are not accurate representations of reality (namely because they're made up) but are always reliable when they came from God.

Connect the DotsIn LK 16:24, the rich man recognized Abraham & Lazarus. Similarly they recognized Moses and Elijah in MT 17:3. Or maybe they were told later and just included their recognition as part of the story. LK 16:24 was not the only time Jesus warned like this: MT 13:49-50, MK 9:43. / In LK 16:31, Jesus was surely including (though not limited to) Himself in that "someone" (MT 28:5-6).
