An Application
Clearly in LK 19:7 those people (Jews) were not evangelical, nor did they care about what is today considered politically correct (believers calling non-believers "sinners.")
Connect the Dots
Compare LK 19:2 to MT 9:9-13, and LK 19:9 to MT 8:8-12. / Interesting how Zacchaeus made no explicit profession of faith, yet Jesus declared him saved. Compare James's comment in JAM 2:18. Contrast Zacchaeus's attitude to Herod's in LK 23:8-9. Maybe just coincidence, but compare LK 19:8 to 2SA 12:6.
