An ApplicationLK 23:35,37,39 were adding insult to injury & are more examples of paradigm clashes. Their behavior to Jesus was inexcusable, and we can avoid accidentally repeating their mistake by understanding it. Part of it was they had a bad paradigm, thinking they understood God and His plan so well that God would behave the way they expected, or else He wasn't legit. Do we know people like that today? Are we one of them? / Jesus went through this for us, let's be grateful, don't ask for another way.

Connect the DotsLK 23:35-36 (and MT 27:39-44) were prophecied in PS 22:6-10. / LK 23:38 is expanded in JN 19:19-22. / LK 23:43 is reason to believe Jesus did not temporarily go to hell. / ISA 55:8-9 is not often thought of here, but it certainly fits.

⌖ Map: Passion Week in Jerusalem, JN 19:17 mentions Golgotha, which catholics believe is here (it's been built on top of).
