An ApplicationJesus, God, left Heaven to be born in a barn as a pooping baby, to live the life of a peasant (He'd have been well aware of modern American standards of living before He left). Love is defined by action more than feeling, despite all the cheap emphasis on feeling in our culture now. Whether we feel it at any one time or not, God clearly proved His immeasurable love for us through His actions. From the way He entered the world to the way He exited, and everything in between. Hallelujah :)

Connect the DotsFor a few brief descriptions of what Jesus left, see: ISA 6:1-4, EZE 1:22-28, & REV 4:2-5. / We could imagine Jesus being a beautiful baby, radiant and haloed and all, but there was ISA 53:2. / LK 2:4-7 was elaboration of MT 1:24-25. / Comparing LK 2:7 and MT 27:59-60, Jesus entered and exited this world with similar clothing. / There is no mention of Mary riding on a donkey (maybe she did, maybe not) nor does it say she gave birth the night they arrived.
