An Application
Remember the pharasees and others who hated Jesus didn't mean to hate God. Perhaps they thought they knew the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and they were trying to honor Him. But the trick is when He came to talk to them in person, they didn't recognize Him. And more dangerous, when He pointed out they had misunderstood Him, they didn't correct, they resented. When God confronts us as we're reading His word, we need to be willing to bend our will to His just as the people in Jesus's day.
