An ApplicationIf MT 26:24 had been spoken by an ordinary person it'd be odd, because we'd say if you knew you were going to be betrayed then just prevent it. He has on many occasions used corrupt humans to bring His will, and yet still punish them for their unrepentant corruption. He can do this without being malicious because He invented time and is not bound by it. He sets us up with choices & would be happier if no one chose to play the role of bad guy (EZE 18:23) but every time someone gladly volunteers.

Connect the DotsThis story is "the last supper," MT 26:26-28 is "the Lord's Supper," or communion. The long account of this meal is John 13-17 (MT, MK, and LK all give short versions.) / In MT 26:14-16 it says Judas got 30 pieces of silver for the prospect of betraying Jesus, which coincidentally or not was comparable to the value of a slave in EX 21:32.
