Some ThoughtsThis chapter is the beginning of a 4-part weird story. The weirdness starts with God's multiple interactions with Balaam. Clearly Balaam is not supposed to go meet Balak, but based on what happens later, it seems that Balaam was enticed by the bribe to go anyway. Rather than kill Balaam for such foolishness, God commands him to say only what he's told. If we're pessimists, we can guess how well this is going to go.
