Some ThoughtsIt seemed Balaam did good, but there was more to this story not explicitly recorded here. In NUM 31:7-8, Balaam will be killed in Midian, not Syria, implying he either made a detour or was intercepted after NUM 24:25. Worse, after God specifically warned him in NUM 22:20,35, he did anyway: NUM 31:15-16, REV 2:14. The "Peor incident" will be described in our next story. / NUM 24:7,20 were probably referring to 1SA 15:20, which will happen a few centuries later.
