An ApplicationGiven REV 13:8, 14:9-11, 16:2, & 20:4, the phrase "over my dead body" comes to mind as a response to getting the mark of the beast. Remember a similar attitude was righteously demonstrated in DAN 3:5-6. May we stand firm when our day comes (MT 10:22, 1CO 15:58, 2CO 1:24) no matter the cost.

Connect the DotsNeither of the two beasts are understood to be Satan, for he is the dragon. But the reference to the head wound that had been healed is a curious reminder of GE 3:15. / It's possible but not certain the sea mentioned in REV 13:1 is related to REV 17:15 (though that's specifically referring to REV 17:1).
