An ApplicationGod is called "holy, holy, holy" because in Hebrew they didn't have punctuation, and emphasis was indicated through repetition. Nothing else in scripture is attributed to God in triplicate, other than His holiness. He is love (1JN 4:8) but He's not described as "loving, loving, loving." He is jealous for our hearts (DT 4:24) but He's not described as "jealous, jealous, jealous." We are called to be holy (LEV 11:45, 19:2) even perfect (MT 5:48) but we fall short (RO 3:23-24). Praise God He loves.
