An ApplicationPaul describes the decline of any great civilization is recognized by 3 cultural characteristics that begin sequentially & cumulate. They are marked by God giving people over, which is the same language as giving a prisoner to a guard. 1st, there is a sexual revolution (RO 1:24), 2nd, a homosexual revolution (RO 1:26), 3rd, the insane becomes normal (RO 1:28) and eventually old normal becomes criminal. Any Christian who knows American history can recognize this pattern in the 20th century.

Connect the DotsWhile God's patience is radically greater than ours, it is limited. Abraham got GE 18:23,32 but eventually we are warned with JER 49:12. / Compare RO 1:21 to IS 5:24-25, HO 4:6; RO 1:22 to IS 44:24-25, 47:10, JER 8:9, 1CO 3:19; RO 1:32 to PS 12:7-8; RO 1:24,26,28 to NU 21:3, JOB 8:4, PS 106:41, EZK 16:27. Remember PR 1:25-26, 19:3, 21:15, MT 7:13-14, ACT 5:29, JAM 4:4, and EZK 11:12, 18:23.** / 2KI 17:7-20 and PS 81:10-15 are Old Testament parallels (AMP translation is interesting) but 2CH 7:14.
